LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, July 3, 2009: In a high profile Artistic Gymnastics Team competition, the Chinese Women’s Team won yesterday with a considerable margin over Russia and North Korea.

Scoring a total of 169.150, the Chinese squad included members of the Beijing Olympic Games Gold winning team Cheng Fei and Jiang Yuyuan as well as He Ning and Zhou Zhuoru, who spearheaded China to Gold at the 2006 World Championships in Aarhus (DEN).

Runner-up Russia was led by Olympians Svetlana Klyukina and Elena Zamolodchikova who helped the team win a 162.150 point tally, relegating North Korea (161.450) to third place. With 14.150 points in hand, North Korea’s Hong Un Jong, 2008 Olympic Champion on Vault, qualified first for the Final on her favourite apparatus on Sunday.
